Fun in the Sun!

Rigby Lake.
We had a blast spending time with our neighbors! This is the sand castle the guys built while the girls built ours twice! Both of our sand castles were enjoyed by the children before we could even finish!

Jace loved the water, but it was way to cold for me to stay in for very long! Jared is such a good dad, he was in the ice cold water the whole time just for Jace!

Aren't we cute!!

Jace's First Year!

This is Jace's first year!
Born July 22, 2008
6 lbs 8 oz
19 1/2 in long

At one year he is now:
22 lbs
30 1/2 in long
And supporting the best school!
Go Cowboys!

We have really enjoyed this year! Jace is such a joy and already very social. We have to watch him because he tries to wrestle his friends like he wrestles with Jared. His vocabulary is advanced for his age. A teacher of mine, who is a speech pathologist, told me that the average at the age of one is one word. By the time he was one he could say 5 words (mom, dad, yeah, two and three), and now he is starting to say outside, what's that, and whoa. Sometimes he even says one, but not very often. He loves swimming and is starting to like our walks with other moms in the neighborhood (our stroller broke and by the time we fixed it he was used to us carrying him). He is a very happy baby. In fact, the other day he fell asleep in my arms and I got to hold him while he slept. The second he woke up, he sat up on my lap and started clapping and then laughing. It was the funniest thing, I only wish I knew what he was dreaming about.

Jace took his first steps yesterday. Later that day he even took three in a row, but we were at Julia's house with a few other people and everyone cheered. It scared him and he started to cry, then he didn't want to try anymore! I think he will try a lot today though.

Summer Fun

Matt came up on a four day weekend, so we went to Mesa Falls.
It was in May and you can still see snow on the ground.

Rexburg has this really fun little park with a playground and water park. We enjoy spending our afternoons there with Jace. He loves the water even when it's really cold.

Having Fun with Jace

We have a little park just for our apartment complex and we love it! Jace enjoyed swinging and going down the slide for the first time. We don't have pictures, but he even went down the covered slide all by himself and loved it. I've never laughed so hard!

This face was just fun.

School is almost over, we have less than a week left! Jared will have 3 out of his 5 finals done today, and I have 4 our of my 7 finals done! I can't wait for our break so we can spend real family time together. We only have about a week before I go back for Spring semester! We don't have anything planned!! It's so great!
Jace is trying so hard to crawl! He has learned how to push himself forward with his feet, but he's not really sure what to do with his knees, yet. He gets almost anywhere that he wants to, just not as quickly as he would like. His fourth tooth should cut through in the next few days and then I think we will be done for a while (I hope).
So funny story about Jace and Jared... Jared has seminars every other Thursday between 2 and 3, for his major. I don't have class so Jace and I hang out in front of my next class and play till Jared is done (because my class starts at 3:15, there is not point in going all the way home). Jared and Jace wait till my class is over and then we go home.
This Thursday, our teacher left the door open and about 15 minutes into the class we could hear Jace laughing in the hallway. His kept laughing and it got louder and louder. The more he laughed the more everyone in the class laughed. I finally had to get up and shut the door. Even though it was a distraction, everyone in the class was in a better mood, even my teacher was laughing. I found out later that Jared was trying to give Jace a high five and it cracked Jace up.

February and March

Jeff is teasing Jace with ice cream!

We had a blast trying on goofy hats and glasses while we waited for our table to be ready at the restaurant.

Jace just loved the water! This was his first time swimming. The little swimmers were too big, but that's okay, he'll grow into it.

Aren't we so Cute! This is at a wedding reception in Utah. We needed to get out and have a vacation!

Jace finds a way to get under his bumper pads, each morning we go in to get him, he is always in a different spot. He really loves his bed and bumper pads (Thanks Grandma!) I think the next time we go out of town we'll need to bring one or two of the pads with us to help him sleep.

Busted. I went to do the dishes while he played in his high chair, when I came back this is how I found him. He loves nature and the plant was too big of  a temptation.

We started this blog months ago but haven't really had time to play around and see what we can do with it. So it's going to very plan for a while but at least you'll get to see some of the things we have been up to.

Jace is really getting mobile. He rolls all over the place and explores everything. He just got his first tooth and has been extra happy this week!! He really loves Jared. Anytime Jared comes home, Jace's face lights up. All he watches Jared's every move.

Jace is getting used to our hectic school schedule. He is learning to fall asleep on his own and starting to like his bed. He does really well, he's not even crying when we put him down anymore. It gives us a couple more hours in the evening to get some homework done. We're grateful for that.
Here are some other fun pictures!
